A quick note from the way south...

Me teaching at a zone conference

Our new missionaries, including the Morrises

Hey all you fine folksies,

Sorry it's been so long since we (meaning me) posted. I don't know why we're feeling so much more busy than we ever have---maybe we finally know everything we're supposed to do. We just finished our three big events yesterday: old missionaries, new missionaries, and zone leaders counsel, so we have today to gear up for zone conferences which start tomorrow. Tutu will be here for the Guayaquil zone conferences and then we'll take her on the road to the Cuenca zone conference as well. I'll probably only attend half of each conference while she's here so the two of us can do stuff together. She will love the fruit here--mango season is on, and there is always fresh pineapple, fresh papaya, a myriad of other fruits which you wouldn't even recognize and of course, delicious bananas. The grapefruit isn't too good, nor are most of the oranges.

We have had a new missionary couple from Arizona here with us for the past week--they are waiting for their tickets to Galápagos. They are great. They just started learning Spanish and are really doing well. They have served in Nauvoo and in the Mesa FHC as well. They are humble, teachable, and very talented. They will love and be loved there and have been a huge help to me here with all the dinners. Brother Morris has done most of the cooking since he got here. He loves to cook, especially with a dutch oven.

We love and miss you especially during this season, but are thrilled to serve Him whose birth we celebrate. Our prayers are constant for each of you, and especially for Mel.

Love,

Mom and Dad
