Well, here I am posting. A very sad thing just happened...well not that sad, really, just irritating. I had the whole blog done and tried to rearrange a couple of things, and half of my blog just disappeared. How does one recreate a masterpiece? I DON'T KNOW. Anyways...
Sorry it's taken me so long to blog. We do love and miss you--"for the reals!" (Does anyone in the world say that besides Catherine?) Well, here's what's been happening in our neck of the woods:
1) We have a missionary with full blown active TB. We finally sent him to a doctor after 3 weeks of coughing and diarrhea (later found out about bloody sputum and weight loss) and after X-rays, positive sputum tests, and cavitational lesions in his CT scan, (interestingly enough, his PPD was negative) it was a done deal. He and his poor companion are safely tucked away in their apartment with masks on and very little to do. The worst thing you can do to missionaries is make them stay home for a prolonged period of time. He is on a powerful cocktail of meds and anxiously awaiting three consecutive negative sputum tests to be cleared to leave his house. We have been testing all his companions and roommates and any other missionary with more than 12 hours of face time while he has been sick. Two had their PPD's convert--one is on a prophylactic, long-term med and we are awaiting a sputum test due to a "suspicious" X-ray. He is not symptomatic (no cough) so does not need to be isolated at this time. We have to re-test all the missionaries involved in three months. Anyways...
2) Dad got a phone call from a guy in the church finance department asking about a $1,300 purchase from my mission household account credit card. Apparently, some vendor where I used the card used or sold the numbers to someone who now has some major bling. As you know, other than my wedding ring, pearl ring, and the ring Tutu gave me, I don't have $13 worth of jewelry, much less $1,300. I now have a new credit card.

3) As you know, Catherine and Jason were here about a month ago. We had a great time and it flew by way too fast as have all your visits. Catherine made me bet her ("what bet?"--that's for Becca) which I happened to lose, so I was supposed to blog about the visit. This is a delayed fulfillment of that bet. Catherine bought a swim dress like Carolyn's or Mel's, a tagua bracelet for every female friend she's ever had or ever will have, and she allowed Jason to buy a pack of cookies. I'm lying, Jason bought a flute with a beard and real squirrel teeth. WOW SIR!!

Anyways... GOOOOOOD LUCK to Mel for the big recital--sorry no one is there to see it (please post some pictures if you are able to get some); to Carolyn on her job interviews--they should be so lucky to get you; to Becca on deciding where to do her internship and then where set up practice; to Catherine and Jason in dealing with google eyes, autism, and homelessness (or at least 2 out of three); and to Steve and Emma in preparing for a life-changing move.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Great poasteen. I love that Dad is smiling a real smile in these pictures. You both look so cute with that llama. TB, eh? Bad news bears. The medication is hard core and makes you sick. Good luck with that. My favorite part was when you told Catherine good luck with google eyes, autism, and homelessness. One correction though: it's googly eyes. Catherine needs to poast a picture of him doing it. OOC!
