The National Zoo

On Saturday we decided to test the Weather Man and go to the National Zoo.
We got rained on.

Luckily Oscar and Iris were protected by the stroller, Betty and Steve had on hats, and I brought an umbrella.

We saw Iris the Orangatang. Yep, that's her name.  An elephant, zebras, lions and tigers, and lemurs. Oh, my!

Betty's favorite animal was the Przewalski's Horse.  Oscar was probably the elephant. (Notice the rain on Steve's backpack.  And Betty is standing in front of the Lions above.) We didn't get to see the pandas this time because when we got to the panda house it was feeding time for the new red panda baby so the building was closed.

I haven't been to a zoo in ages. Glad you had fun despite the rain. Great pictures, as usual.

I love the zoo. The pictures are fun! You guys are brave to test the weatherman. Homey don't go anywhere in the rain.

Hope you didn't get wet or you'll catch your death of cold--but wait, we're not still in Ecuador so that may not apply. Everything's more fun with little kids (albeit harder and more expensive and tiring). Thanks for the great post.
